Bill why would you get rid of the 427 ERA to get another 427?.....you owe it to yourself to get an FIA...you've been talking about it for years...time to make it happen

I'm working on it as hard as I can. I'm so close I can taste it. Just need to feel the options out. The good news for one lucky seller is that I'm a cash buyer who does not need the wife's permission to buy (all she ever asks is "can we afford it" which she already knows the answer if Iam looking to buy).I could make one seller a very happy new year if he is willing to deal.
The three 427SC cars are my fallback in case I cannot find a suitable FIA.All three are at prices I've never seen for a car of their caliber......Again I appreciate the words of encouragement..

As for building right now, I prefer instant gratification as I've got projects that have been sitting for two years now...Just no spare shop time to get them done......

I would also agree and say wait for the right FIA to come along.
Can you divulge any details on the FIA you're considering? Is it an ERA? Color? Is it 289/302-based or 351W-based? Is it a private sale or is it currently advertised? Any details or must they be kept secret to preserve the deal?

As of this morning, strictly in regards to the 289FIA's.......One that is not listed currently for sale(owner unsure if he is actually selling or not but contacted me anyway), 2 that are not listed for public consumption anyplace that I have seen recently, three that are listed all over the web at asking prices just above my limit. Most of them ERA's, 2 potential Contemporary's. Not saying anything else detail wise until a deal is done as I do not want competition chasing after what I have found.
Bill S.
PS: One 427SC sold last night, crossed off my list of potential back up cars.....While there are less FIA's for sale, it appears there are less buyers who actually want them over the 427SC's..........Different strokes and all I guess........Now, if I could find someone to buy my coin collection (or take it in partial trade) there is a smoking deal on a Kirkham 289FIA for less than $63,000.......

Now you're talking. That one I believe I/we know about and I've actually entertained a brief thought or two.
Below the roller price.
There are definitely different crowds for 289's and 427's. There was an ERA 289 FIA listed here on CC a couple months back that sold very quickly. I could have sworn you had purchased it.

No, a friend of mine did out in central PA. He is on here and is doing a LeMans top. He got a great car at a price too good to pass up. Was for sale at the same time John McMahons old Contemporary FIA sold, both within a week of each other.....As they say, timing is everything.
