Optional Rotors and Calipers?
Bob,or else:
Im trying to figure out what is necessary for optional front brakes with 15" wheels. The only part numbers I come up with are for the Wildwood rotors. 160-3871, and160-3870. Can you supply P/N's for the hats, hubs, and calipers for bolt on 15" wheels? Also, can I use a GM knuckle? Does it need to be modified? What needs to be done to it if usable? Sorry, I looked through all three manuals, maybe I missed it. |
I Have That Stuff...
Jeff, I have the big brake option along with the 6 pin hubs, 15" wheels. The spec documentation I have for it all shows all the part numbers, etc. -- and they're Sierra calipers, btw. Now that's a few years old, mind you. If Bob doesn't post something tonight, or early tomorrow, on this I'll scan it all in to a PDF, put it on one of my servers, and post a direct link here for you. How does that sound?

I swapped my car to the big front brakes. #755
The caliper mounting bracket is different from the GM caliper to the Sierra. ERA supplied the new bracket. My knuckles are the ERA built units that are similar to GM units. I simply unbolted the GM style bracket and bolted on the newly supplied ERA bracket. I am not sure how you would mount the Sierra's to a GM steering knuckle. John |
Sierras are a tight fit...

I've posted the early-upright conversion process here. Pin-drive hubs will accept our (proprietary) hats directly. Bolt-on hubs need some machining (and use a different hat).
