Peter P's son wins Skip Barber Championship
I don't visit here very often since I sold my ERA 758 to a great guy from the Indianapolis area but I kind of miss the group. I sold it to go racing again in open wheel formula cars which I did for many years. For those that don't know, Peter's son contested the Skip Barber Championship this year and won the shootout in Atlanta a week or so ago. This is a monumental achievement for a 16 (?) year old. By winning, he gets a substantial scholarship to continue his racing at the pro level and an Indy Lights test which is a VERY serious race car (I drove them for 6 years).
So when you see the proud papa at the food fest or have the opportunity to speak to him on the phone, a hearty congratulations are in order.

Congrats to Peter Jr. and his dad. Could be the start of a "car stuff" dynasty.

That's an awesome accomplishment. I'm making a road trip to ERA tomorrow to pick up my car and will be sure to congratulate Peter. I'm sure he's very proud. I'm so excited about picking up the car, I'm having difficulty acting like an adult. Actually, I frequently have that problem **)

...actually, Peter B aquired his driving skills (and presonality) from his mother. His father couldn't complete a lap around Lime Rock without crashing... backwards into the berm a third of the way down the front straight.

Peter only allows you to tell this story because you bought 4 cars.

I think Peter's track issues may be because he just won't let something like "track time" interrupt a good meal
Difficult to maintain a steady line and handle a slice at the same time....
Congratulations to Peter Jr. and a proud papa!

Hi Dan,
Got it home late last night, will post pics soon and update you on the engine decision in a new thread. I congratulated Peter P. (young Peter was in school, so didn't see him) and he was, if you know Peter, very humble about it. There were 65 or more people at their Christmas luncheon. I didn't have a piece of the "End of the World" cake, but it looked good :)

Post as many pics of your car as you can, and as detailed as you can. A lot of us find the early, "in-process" pics are better than the pics of the final product. I know I do. The higher the resolution, the better, too.
