Metric or standard for ERA assembly?

Once my car comes, will I need mostly metric or standard tools for assembly? Thanks.

Mostly all standard for the ERA designed items. The metric stuff you will run into will be on any GM stuff that's on the car...for instance, the F-body Rear brake calipers use a 15mm socket on the upper caliper bolt and a 17mm hex on the slider pins...I know this b/c I just changed pads today. You may also need a variety of Allen wrenches. If you opt'd for the ERA rear suspension, it uses a 3/8" Allen key bolt at the bottom attachment points....the seats and fuel filler also use Allen wrench bolts...at least that was the case on my car.

Have Fun!

- Allen.

Mr. Chat is correct. All the body, chassis and suspension components are USS. The late rear outboard brakes are metric. And the banjo bolt into the clutch slave cylinder is metric too...

My car is all SAE/Standard.

IIRC, the bleeder screw on the clutch slave required a tiny metric box wrench....

Good to know....I never touched that....yet

Yes, 7 mm. I remember having to crawl out from under the car several times before I got it right. Was expecting SAE!

I have pretty much every tool I need including the metric ignition wrench for the bleeder. But it is still an excuse to buy a few more

Here are a few more you might want to make sure you have on hand.

A hard rubber mallet
A rivet tool (pneumatic if not having ERA bond and rivet the body to the frame)
A set of SAE T-handle allen wrenches (they use a lot of allen head fastners)
A heat gun (useful for many purposes)
A set of 12-point sockets (3/8 inch drive) for all the ARP fastners on most engines
Possibly a riv-nut tool and assortment of riv-nut inserts.

You can never have too many tools.
