Bob,
Talked with Peter on Friday. He said you guys were just finishing up on a great looking GT turnkey...black with BRM style wheels. Could you post a photo or 2 when it's done? Sounds like I'm getting close. Peter says January. Will probably bring up the Cleveland after the 1st of the year so you guys can "fit" it. Dave |
Dave,
Here are a couple of pictures of Joe Sala's car. I wasn't sure about black before, but I really like the look now. I hope the AC can keep up on sunny days. This car also uses the electric water pump, and so far, it's worked very well. The "thermostat" opens at 200F and the temperature immediately goes to 190F (when the car is parked). It's obvious that the cooling system is just loafing. Teddy says that the temperature doesn't go above 160F when the car is moving. That's a little too low for my tastes. |
Bob:
Spacers on the rear wheels? Looks like the back space could be adjusted. Those look like big meats though... say 17". Tough to get all that rubber under the fenders. Jim |
No doubt about it Bob, you guys do nice work. One question though, are there stealth turn signal/parking lights hidden on the front? or do you have the choice of driving lights OR turn signal/parking lights?

Troublemaker Jim,
Yes, we have spacers behind the rear wheels - wasn't my preference - talk to Teddy. We can always shave or remove 'em. We found some very nice aftermarket parking lights. Dispite their size, they're quite bright and visible: http://www.erareplicas.com/wip/sala/parklite.jpg |
Bob:
You know I'm there for you, buddy. As you may recall (or not) I had 14" wide wheels on my GT and we ended up machining approx. 0.90" off the back of the wheel. Were I to do it again, I would take a little less off because there was some minor interference with the brake cooling duct in the wheel-well. My recollection (now ten years fuzzy) was that holes for the (6) pin drives were plenty deep enough and did not need to be modified. Jim Holden |
