Floor mats for ERA
 
Has anyone found either Cobra logo or plain floor mats that fit well in an ERA? Looking for an alternative to the ERA logo mats.

I have not found any mats...the only option I thought of was a plain black mat and then have a Cobra logo patch (large...5"?) stitched onto it.

I just asked them to make me mats with no logo or printing of any sort on them and *poof*, as if by magic, they appeared. They will do anything you ask them to do, so long as you pay.;) Bob said he'd even come down and mow my grass and trim my shrubs, provided I paid for air fare, lodging, and his customary hourly rate. I then decided to handle that chore myself.:cool:

I had plain matching mats made locally and sent them over to NY Embroidery who applied the Cobra logo. They came out great! Use you old mats as a template.

I used the ERA mats that came with my car as templates and had Coco mats made. They are beautiful, durable, but rather heavy. I have pulled all the carpet from the car and am going to run aluminum with just the Cocos under the feet.

Lot's of glue to clean.

What product will you use to eliminate the glue? I may do the same in the future.

We have been using acetone. Nasty business, but works well. I use an aluminum mag cleaner after that with scotch brite. Cleans up very nicely with a satin finish. Can easily be polished (but for time) - I like the brushed look.

We had 98% of the glue gone in about an hour. Have not tried to get the glue off of the doors yet - the aluminum was a no brainer just elbow.

Thanks. I have plenty of acetone. Each time I use it, I wonder how many of my body cells I'm killing. :eek:

I used 3m General Adhesive Remover, and it worked like a charm. Jack recommended it.

Here's a pic of what ERA made for me years and years ago. I'm sure if you any of you just called Bob up, gave him your credit card number, and your ERA vintage, the same thing would be in the mail to you in a jiffy.

Outstanding product - used it to clean the glue out of the foot boxes.
