fresh air vent cables

my pass side cable is frozen and needs replacing. I have been reading that the cable style has changed over the years and mine is a 2004 vintage where the inner cable wraps around the lever for the valve . any help would be great

The easiest way to replace it is to call John at ERA and have them send you a new one (in exchange for a few $). If really frozen the first thing I would do is remove it and get some Sil Glyde and try getting it to moving again to re-use. You can buy it on Amazon as well as NAPA.

Otto:
Sorry to hear your cable is frozen. However, to replace it you will have to remove the entire cable. Since that is a fact, I would remove the frozen cable and as DanEC says, begin work on it to see if lubricant will remedy the situation. It is not a very hard operation but is a bit fiddly.
Good Luck.
