Koni 8212-1126SPA1 Shocks

Your web site lists this shock as a possiblity for the front of the car. This shock has Drag racing valving. Do you normally recommend revalving the shock for road race use? Or do you use it as is?

Are there reasons you do not recommend a Koni setup in the rear?

Thanks
Gary

Drag shock? %/ The thing should be re-valved for the street.

On the rear, I don't think I could find an appropriate adjustable-spring-seat model - but my research was done a long, long time ago.

The Koni SPA1 is designed for drag racing. Koni gives data for their normal 8212 series shocks, but not for the drag shocks. The spa1 and the like apparently have different charcteristics, etc. I am not sure as I don't see data on both.

Anyway I was just asking because the SPA1 can be obtained for about $319 and the standard 8212 (only difference is vavlving) is ~$550. You can actually buy the SPA1 from Summit racing for $319 and send it in to be revalved as a standard 8212 and it is ~$90 cheaper then buying the 8212 outright.

I am going to upgrade the shocks on my Contemporary and that is why I am asking, etc. I assume that you just buy the SPA1 version and run it like it is?

Thanks
Gary

CCX,

We use Spax dampers on all our cars. I just offer the Koni number for those who want compatible dimensions.
