Smith Electric Tachometer

Question, recently my Smith electric tachometer started recalibrating back to 200 rpm instead of 0 rpm. Any one else seen this issue before? When the ignition is on or off without the motor running it reads 200 rpm. It was working great since I installed it and the dip switches were set according for a V8.

Have you checked whether it's reading 200 rpm high over the whole range? It might be that the needle just has moved on the axis. If so (and it bothers you), return it to Nisonger for repair. 914-381-3600

Hi Bob, yes it is reading 200 rpm over the whole range. Will give them a call Monday.

Thanks.
