Crisis #2--heeelp!
I am deleting my original question. After convincing myself that my starter solenoid was bad, I went back in the garage and traced my problem to one of those battery disconnect knobs that fits on the negative battery post. Somehow the knob was shorting, even though it was screwed in completely. A bit of fiddling with it and the car fired right up...
Thanks for the reply, Tongue Pirate. I am equal parts relieved and humble right now-- Bob |
check your cable connections at the battery, starter & the frame(or where your negative cable grounds to the car). Sometimes people will ground to the motor & then ground to the frame. So you might also need to check there.
