Grease

I was adding grease to the ball joints on car 611 for the first time, when at the passengers side upper A-arm ball joint, the grease leaked out, around the mounting flange and never filled the rubber boot.

I tried to tighten the mounting bolts with no luck. Grease still leaks arount the backing plate on top of the A-arm mounting platform.

Any suggestions?
Is the joint bad?
What can I do?

Thanks for any help.
By the way check ou the members gallery for some pics of 611 in process.

Thanks
Todd Hedges

Todd,

If the grease is leaking out, pull the ball joint off and put a small bead of silicone sealant around the round section of the ball joint to seal against the control arm hole.
The things that I learn about, after the fact. %/
