It's time!
The moment I have been dreading has come upon me....
I need to purchase insurance for my Cobra. Does anyone have any feedback on their insurance companies, as to good or bad experiences? All I'm looking for is fair and reasonable, and not the "Deal of a lifetime". Any information is appreciated. Todd Hedges ERA611%/  |

Lombardo agency in W Hartford fixed me up with Hagerty Ins. I currently own a 66 convert stang rate is $145.00 a year. I sOld my FFr cobra last year both cars $350.00. My stang was rear ended in Oct. I had an estimate from the ford dealer $2700. uninsured motorist hit me. I had a check within two weeks for the full amount. Good people to deal with. Lloyd |

David Parish @ Parish Heacock was a pleasure to deal with. There is a mileage limitation however. 1-800-274-1804

I have mine through Parish Heacock as well.
He is a car enthusiast and understood how car guys feel about their cars. I was recommended to him by my sister which is in the insurance business. Turned out to be great to deal with. Good luck snake oil |
Thank you
Thanks for the insurance info.
Peter P also recommended Parish. Thanks again |
I'm in the same situation as Todd. Parish just informed me 2 weeks ago that their original quote (about 15 months old) of $415 per year is now over $1000! They say that rates for Cobras have gone thru the roof lately. I'd be interested in what other recent experience is.

contrary to an earlier post here, HAGERTY NO LONGER insures Cobra replicas of any brand. Prior covered customers are grandfathered by them , but NO new ones added since almost a year ago. This they explained to me was due to extremely high claim ratios and high dollar claims vs rest of their portfolio. Other co's seem to be raising rates on Cobra type cars too and others also not covering them anymore. There have been several interesting threads in recent times on this topic, you might want to do a 'search' for same as research by others with same question as you were posted with detailed examples. Best of luck. Bill Wells, SPF 156..

Yep....
Parish requires 1 year of ownership and driving a Big Block Cobra prior to issue of a policy. Another company quoted $1050 per year with a 2500 mile limit based on an agreed value of $65k. A third company said they issue policies through another office and gave me the phone number of Parish. It's not looking good. |
Todd,
Here are some more possibilities. I don't have a chance to confirm the list, so good luck. :MECOOL: |
