Oil Leak

The remote oil filter on my car leaks around the filter top.
At first I thought the filter wasn't on tight.
Then I thought it was the filter itself.
With no luck stopping the oil from leak out around the
top of the filter, I figured I'd ask to see if anyone
else had this problem.

Thanks

Sounds like you may have the wrong filter on there. I would pull the filter and measure the seal on it and then sealing surface on the mount. Sounds like they may be making contact but there is not enough surface contact to hold the oil in under pressure.
At 50 psi + you really need the surfaces to match up perfectly.
Also, is it maybe overtightened and squishing the gasket out?

Todd,

It is, unfortunately, not too unusual to have those adapters seep oil, so make sure that the oil is coming from the filter surface.

Make sure you don't have two oil filter gaskets on there. Sometimes when you take the old filter off, the gasket won't come off with the old filter. It stays on the block/adaptor. Then when you put the new filter on, you end up with two gaskets causing a leak.

Thanks for the info.
I'll measure the dia of the gasket/seal & matching surface.
I pray this is where I went wrong.
