Gauges

Bob,
I am in the slot for an ERA. Really excited. By the time my car is ready to be built, do you think that you could install the Autometers in place of the Smiths?

Bob Putnam 08-22-2002 11:34 AM

Sure. We'll give you credit for the standard gages. I am not familiar with their wiring, though.

It shouldn't be a problem mrud. ERA recently installed a set of Autometers on our 427.

Bob Putnam 08-23-2002 05:32 AM

We installed Autometers? And they didn't tell ME? :3DSMILE: :3DSMILE:

I think I've finally got 'em trained...

I was planning on going with ERA's standard Stewart Warner gauges. Why are you guys switching to Autometer? Which Autometers did you decide to go with?

Thanks in advance,
Mike

FFR quit using Stewart Warner gauges because of quality issues. I have Autometers, very happy.

Autometer recently came out with a set of 427 gauges that look like the Smiths. Quality issues also played into the decision. Another factor was that lighting for the SW and Smiths is poor compared to the Autometers, so I hear. Check them out at http://www.hdrcoupe.com/html/AutoMeterGauges.html
