FIA question

Hi again Bob, more questions. On the web site the FIA pictured, is the windshield raked a bit more than the 427 ? I know it is an option I just wondered if it had it. Also what size and style are the Goodyears on the same FIA ? Thanks

We built in some extra adjustment in the windshield rake. You can match both the street angle and the configuration that the cars were raced with. (Rumor has it that the cars started the race with the taller windshield, but somehow accidentally, the windshields came loose and tilted further back. Tough luck!)

I think that those tires are Vintage Goodyear Blue Streaks, probably in 6.00-15 and 7.00-15 sizes.

Boy does that sound like an old Smokey Yunick trick! That guy was forever "pushing the envelope" of the rule book. Like that time part of his roll cage was actually part of the gas tank.

I believe the 427 windshield is tilted about 45* . What was the rake on the race FIA ? Thanks

F.R.,

Unfortunately I don't have the original car to measure, but I think that the windshield was tilted back 3-4 deg. from "normal".
