ERA #206 For Sale?

Hi guys,

Apparently ERA #206 is going to be coming up for auction in January. The sole photo in the Russo and Steele ad shows a blue Mk 1 with six-spoke wheels.

I'm almost certain I saw the same car at the Ford Centennial celebration this past June. (My photo below)

Can anybody tell me anything about this particular car? I can't afford it, but...maybe I can't NOT afford it, if you know what I mean...

You can e-mail me at MikeLDrew@aol.com if you don't want to post here.

Thanks very much!

Mike,

The 427's and the GT40's have different numbering.

I think that the GT40's have a 4 digit number. Might be wrong, but I don't think that car is the one for auction based on the info you give.

YES, that IS the same car....

....that you saw at the Ford 100th Anniversary this past summer. It belongs to George Huisman at Classic Design Concepts in Walled Lake, MI.

The car was built with " no expense" spared. It is RHD, features a full-house Roush small-block with Webers. I've ridden in it....it flat-out FLIES!!!

The car won "Best Handbuilt Sports" at last year's Detroit Autorama (I won the year before with my ERA FIA). The paint and finish is flawless. Every detail, like the fit of the tinted plexiglas windows and headlight covers has been massaged by hand. It is a stunning machine.

regards,

Jeff

Cobra Jeff, Mike Drew
Is this car for sale?
If so, when and where?
I read the posts about the SN but did'nt see anything about sale particulars.
Any info would be appreciated!

Russo & Steele Auction

Greg -

The car will be featured at the "Russo & Steele" Classic Car Auction in Scottsdale, AZ, January 23-24th, 2004. Here is a link:

GT40

The chassis was set up by a shop that specializes in GT40's. The paint and body was done by George's people, who build custom show cars for Ford Motor Company. The car is fast and gorgeous.

regards,

Jeff
