67 fairlane 500 donor
Just bought a 67 fairlane 500 with a 289 and auto trans. as a true barn kinda find. It is complete down to stock radio and hope it has a bunch of date code correct items that may be used for a Cobra build. I admit to being a chebie guy so not the sharpest tool in the shed when talking about Ford parts. help me out guys, what is of value for restoration purposes on the right date code parts? I picked it up to part out although a battery and round tires plus a little would let me drive it away (kinda ??? ) been in the back yard since 1976 I was told. Kids did cave hard top in a little but glass is still good etc..

vettestr,
If the numbers all stack, it might be worth more as a "trade" that a part car. If they don't match, then remove the 289/auto and get you a "good" 460 and toploader, with a CSC roll cage and the correct tires and wheel you would be close to a vintage stock car, that would bring more than as parts, also. grumpy |
Grumpy,
Thanks for the info. The engine etc.. is original and engine bay is covered in dust but looks bone stock down to the plug wires. I bought it to strip date code parts and will look to sell them and body as I can. The project of me rebuilding it is not an option as I have too many other irons in the fire. I will have photos when camera is returned. Anybody know of specific items that are more of a restoration find? Parts are parts and would you like fries with that ??? I am trying to learn if any value as restoration parts now and will enter in (parts for sale ) but looking to you Guru's for info. Thanks all |
Is it a K code car?
Unless it's a "K" code car - 271 HP solid lifter 289, I doubt you are going to find any incredibly valuable parts on it. Most smallblock guys want to use later roller cam blocks. The heads are small chamber, nothing real special. I recommend keeping the car together and selling it to someone who needs '67 fairlane parts. Nice car with a big block in it :)
But that's just one jokers opinion. Chuck |
Just realized I am in ERA's area and will move or start new post in FOR SALE section. Sorry Bob for postin in wrong area.%/
