...and finally, a picture of Tim's ERAGT 302 motor with bundle of snakes exhaust; the source of the greatest sound in the world.

Jim,
The answer to your trivia question is, Peter's driving the $300K car and you're driving the clone... did you think he'd let anyone else drive it? |
Jim,
It was nice to meet you and others ERA owners at Carlisle. I hope you don't mind my frequent question as my build comes closer to reality. Jamie |
Chas:
Correct! However, if the truth be known, Peter asked if I wantd to drive 3252 and my response was "No way Jose." JW: Anytime! Jim |
Which is REAL?
Mafia is behind (always slow) and driving the REAL Cobra and You are in the ERA Cobra. It looks great.
|
Which car is push out and in a Trailer?
"and the little puppy motor in my ERAFIA; 331 Gurney Eagle heads on a Boss 302 w/Webers"
The webers covers are glued since you have to push it in and out the trailer. Jaques webers works (no webers covers). I did not know you changed the heads on your Cobra. Looks great. Did you find any good engine buys at the show |
Folks:
... we have just heard from the "no way Jose" I was talking about. It relates to a trip to Barcelona, Spain for a Formula 1 race several years ago. No matter where we were going, Jose had to drive by the same damn statute before we could turn and go in the correct direction. ...thus, the no way Jose. Jim PS: ...and Jose, don't get on me about the Webers. I don't need no frick'n power brakes in my GT. |
Power Brakes
You do not need any brakes or gasoline at all since you only push it up and down the trailer.

Was ERA at Carlisle?
:D Sweet cars guys, and nice photos......enjoyed them!!! |
Any info on the sunburst wheels; particularly the source and size?
|
I JUST GOTTA SAY IT - - - - -
CARLISLE WAS GREAT - AS USUAL. MANY FINE LOOKING CARS - - BUT THE SHOW WAS STOLEN BY THE ERA BOOTH. AN AMAZING VARIETY OF GREAT LOOKING CARS AND THE USUAL GREAT PEOPLE. I'M STILL STUNNED BY THE SIGHT OF PETER'S #3052 AND THE 'IDENTICAL" ERA CAR. EITHER ONE IS A SHOW STOPPER BY ITSELF BUT BOTH TOGETHER - - - - - WOW. THE ONLY DETAIL THAT WOULD TELL THEM APART (OTHER THAN TOUCHING THEM - - GAWD FORBID) WAS THE HOOD AND DECK EMBLEMS. PETER'S ORIGINAL HAD THE "COBRA" EMBLEM AND THE ERA TWIN HAD THE REALLY COOL "ERA" LOGO EMBLEMS. I'D SURE LIKE TO KNOW WHERE I COULD GET A SET OF THOSE MADE UP FOR PERMANENT DISPLAY. I'D LOVE TO PUT THEM ON OLD #273. IT WAS GREAT SEEING A LOT OF YOU GUYS AGAIN. (THANKS FOR BRINGING THE RAKI, BOB). IT WAS ALSO FUN MEETING SOME OF THE "LEGENDS" IN PERSON FOR THE FIRST TIME. SHOOOOT - - - - CRANKY'S ALMOST AS OLD AS I AM - - - OF COURSE - I'M CONSIDERABLY BETTER LOOKING. WHAT A GREAT FRATERINTY THIS IS. THANKS - - AND - - Y'ALL HAVE A REALLY GREAT DAY. BLACKJACK |
Carlisle was great! Wen't on Sunday to see Peter & Jim and get some info on running Webers. Met Joe and talked about the 289FIA. He said everyone was going to bust him about cleaning the car for the show. There is some rivelery going on between the "racers" and "the waxers". His car is definately not a trailer queen.
Which one was real and which was an ERA? Only the badges gave it away. I said to Peter I didn't you could get DNA from a Cobra and make a clone. Great job by the ERA team, as always the quality and engineering are second to none. I researched buying a Cobra for 5 years, and nothing compared to the ERA. When they came out with the exact clone of the 289FIA it was love at first sight. Mine will be ready in June of 2005 (my choice on the delivery date). Can't wait. Keeping myself busy gathering the engine parts, so by next june it will all come together. |
Snake:
The badges were "easy on easy off" stickers. Years ago Phil Guadette actually had ERA nose and tail "cloisonné" made up. Maybe the time has come to induce him to have some more made up. I've been to all of the Carlisle replica/kit car shows and look forward to them each year to renew friendships and make new ones. This year was a bit different than others; Chip Miller always used to come around at some point in the show and thank us for being there. Sadly, he is no longer with us, but hopefully the show will continue on as a place in the eastern half of the country where folks can come and compare the latest offerings of various kit car manufacturers, have a good time and see some great cars. Jim |
HEY, JIM - - -
YOU HAVE MY ENTHUSIATIC SUPPORT FOR "LEANING" ON PHIL TO HAVE NEW "ERA" NOSE AND TAIL BADGES MADE UP. AND - - PLEASE DON'T FORGET TO KEEP MY NAME IN THE HAT FOR THE ERA WINDSHIELD STCKERS. Y'ALL HAVE A REALLY GREAT DAY. BLACKJACK |
Hey Jack......haven't seen or heard from you in awhile, but I've missed the VI for awhile traveling so much. How's that GT-40 doing?
|
I'd like some "ERA" badges as well!

Folks:
I will be up at ERA on Thursday to pick up cars for Ford Carlisle. I'll speak to Phil about the badges. Meanwhile here is another shot of CSX3252 and its clone... I still can't get that grin off my face. |
