ERA 427 shifter

Bob. I have ERA # 718 and am using a toploader from a Galaxie with std mounting position. Will I still be able to use the reverse welded (OEM style) shifter, or will it be too close to the dash?

On roughly page 15 of the manual, there's a diagram of the Toploader's shifter mounting locations. Which do you have?

The more fwd mounting position with the long tailshaft.
