Fan Thermostatic Switch/Brake Master Cylinder

Can someone tell me where the Fan Thermostatic Switch is traditionally located on an ERA - I'm still dealing with a fan not working problem and I now need to look into that element.

Also, where is the Brake Master Cylinder?

Yes, lame questions - but I'm trying to do some stuff myself without knowledge or help.

CdC,

The fan thermoswitch is in the aluminum connector in the bottom radiator hose.
The brake masters are underneath the floor, inside the box.

Please e-mail me for the link to the manual. eracars sbcglobal.net

On my ERA#209 the thermostatic switch is located in the lower hose going to the radiator. It is an inline assembly with two wires sticking out of it. The master cylinders are located under the car, beneath the pedals, tucked alongside a frame member and in an enclosed sheet metal box. There are 6 screws holding the cover in place and you have 2 master cylinders. One cyl. is for the front and one for the rear. I like my ERA and enjoy working on it, I've owned mine for 13 years now.

Thanks - that's exactly the input that I was looking for.

By the way, I have #98 built in 1984, so your car was probably built in the 1990's. I've got a 428 PI in it from a donor police car - rebuilt, of course.

My car; ERA#209 was built in 1989. It has a sideoiler with a single plane Offy Port-O-sonic intake. I have the fake knockoffs and vinyl seats. I still like to open the garage door and gaze at it, especially during the winter when I dream of taking it out for a spin on a beautiful summer evening. I
still find it a really beautiful car. The ERA's are easy to work on and I am always amazed at how well thought out these cars really are. Any time I have had a problem, I called ERA and they were very helpful.
Good luck:D

That's also my experience!

I ended up with real knockoffs, so they are over 35 years old! Having the side oiler is a real plus on your car. My engine is the other engine used on the original street Cobra in the final years.
