Wire Crimper

When you have a moment to raise your eyes up and away from your computer screen, would you take a look over at the ERA wiring dept. and advise as to what brand/model wirecrimper you all are using? Thanks. Jim |
I have 3 different ones, depending on the type of connector. Mostly I use Waytek #401 but at $142 I suspect it's a bit much for the "amateur". :cool:
My favorite cheapy is a Snap-On which doesn't match any of Waytek's. #466 is the closest. Waytek Wire |

Great seeing you on Sat with the Great Mustached one. When you say crimp tool I used an expensive crimp tool to crimp the insulated connectors on my last build. A good connection is difficult to do repeatedly. While building my GT, I continued Bob's method of soldering and heat shrink all connectors. You are assured a much more reliable connection. Takes a little more work, but you won't be plagued with a loose connections. LLoyd |

To paraphrase an old fishing line: "A bad day at ERA is better than a good day anywhere else." What better way to spend a day than to go up to lovely New Britain, harrass Peter, help load a couple of cars and go to Paradise Pizza for lunch. Your GT looks great! My hope is that just as soon as Teddy finishes fitting my wheels and tires and an oil cooler to my GT, I'll drag it home to finish it up. At the moment all I have are visitation rights. Jim |

You're an old hand at this now, so I know that you know the role food plays in Peter's existence. Over my some 25 years of negotiations with Peter, I have found that food is a facilitator. Thus, arriving with a jar of stuffed hot peppers or a package of Italian blood sausage with some sharp Provolone gets his immediate attention. Frankly, I'm amazed that he doesn't weigh 300lbs... although he may burn it off with all of the diet Coke he drinks. Jim |
