Temp Gauge Post Script

The joke is on me .. I began to remove the defective gauge so I could put the new gauge in that Bob sent. Took the sensor loose at the manifold, took the gauge loose at the dash and pulled on the tube. Oooops! The water gauge tube ran to the oil pan .. the oil temp tube was in the manifold   Swapped them and they both work fine .. sorry Stewart Warner!

There were two of us building .. one working under the car and one on top. Got our wires crossed :JEKYLHYDE My fault .. the dash was wired by me and I shoulda double checked ...

Bob, I'll be returning your new gauge unmolested :D

Did I overfill the diffy?

During the pre-start checks, I stuck my finger in the differential and felt the oil level about an inch below the hole. I thought it was supposed to be filled to the hole, like the tranny. So I put some extra 80-90 in to top it off.

Now I'm leaking gear lube heavily from the pinion seal. It is running along the frame and into the cockpit, under the rear cover, slinging up to the top of the tunnel too.

Does this sound like simple overfill? Should I let a little of it out? Or does it sound like a bad pinion seal?

thanks,
Sam
