Loadco-
I was looking at your pics and noticed that because you mounted the t-stat on the passenger side, you had to use a 180* fitting.

Did you try to mount it in the same place, but on the driver's side, to avoid the 180* turn? Did that not work because of a clearance problem with the upper radiator hose?

Chaplin,

It probably would have fit but the bigger issue was the remote oil filter being right there and the hoses to and from the oil cooler run right into that area as well. It also would ahve been hell trying to drill the holes to mount the unit over there. I did this install after the car was complete, actually it was about 8 years old when I did it.

Thanks. I have the remote filter too, but I've got my motor out of the car at the moment, so it is hard to rememeber how much room there was when everything was installed. I was looking at it last night, and other then where you mounted it, the only other place I can think to put it is on the frame directly below the horns. Need to figure out what will make the plumbing the least complicated. But having the engine out will make it easier to install.

I thought about that spot as well. My concern there was not being able to get a breaker bar and socket on the crank bolt from the top to turn the engine over when I do valve adjustments. It's already tight in there.

One of these days I want to figure out where to mount a Canton Accusump system. My only gripe with the oil cooler thermostat is it takes a few more seconds of cranking the engine over to get oil pressure. Not a big deal but the Accusump would take care of that.
