I need to buy my battery soon. ERA recommends a size 47, but none of the premium suppliers like Odessey, Optima, or Sears/Platinum offer this size. In my car, the battery is installed through the fender well panel on a tray ahead of the right footbox. It has hold downs on the short ends. I seem to remember several people here use Optima, etc. Is there another size that anyone has used successfully? This thread mentions a 24 but I'm not sure if it works. Thanks.

This is easy. Any place that sells Interstate batteries will have what you need, which is the Mega-Tron II MT-47. I replaced mine last year. Here's a pic:

Thanks Patrick. Sears also has an ECM Gold in that size. I was hoping to go with an Optima or Odessey, but I'm sure either of these will be fine.

I put a NAPA Group 47 in mine. Mind the vent hose to the passenger footbox running above the battery when you install it.
I also used the Green Knob battery cut-off switch on the negative terminal (which is toward the engine, not the outer body). I disconnect the battery with this device for antitheft purposes and if I'm not going to be driving the car for more than a day.
