headlight install
I'm putting the front harness in my car and need to know if there is a preferred pathway to route the harness?
Do you have to take the front lights including signal lights off to properly wire? |
Nope, leave the lights as they are!
There are holes in the alum fender inner panels for these wires. Take them from the top of the strut mount down the radiator side of the panel. You might have to remove the airfoil if you have not already. You will find a ~3/8" hole from the radiator side to behind the ram air duct. If you route the wire this way, it is long enough to plug the turn signals and headlights in. I believe I removed the wheels to gain more working room ..
In my case, the factory harness had the left headlight wire taped too far down and caused it to emerge near the horns. I had to unwrap it, pull the left (driver) headlight wire back, and then re-wrap it. For a finished look, I added some plastic coil wrap around the wires on the radiator side. If this is not clear, I will take a photo for you .. Sam |
The front wiring routing is shown around page 77 in the main manual. The grommeted holes are somewhat hidden behind the fresh air hose.
