fan not coming on
Bob,
I have the twin fans in front and the puller fan also. The twin fans come on at temp and also with manual switch on, my puller fan does not seem to be coming on. Should it also come on with the manual switch?

The fans are all on the same circuit. The front fan jumper has a "Y" that bridges power to both front and rear systems. Try connecting the front harness plug directly to the rear fan. If the fan doesn't come on with the dash switch, your rear fan may be defective.

Here's what Bob's talking about. Try turning the dash switch on and then jiggling this connector by the radiator hose. Mine was defective and I ended up splicing around it. If jiggling doesn't fire it up, then switch them.

Jiggling is good.
Oh. You meant the plug connection...

My money's on the "jiggle test" coming through to the rescue. Yes, I see the fan firing intermittently as GF jiggles....

I Jiggled ( the plug not me) and you were right. After looking at the plug I can see the problem, it pushes the other spade out of the other side when connecting. I have it working now ,but think I will also replace with a different connection later. THanks for the help

The ol' jiggle test never fails. Bob, shall we split the fee based on my drive-by consult?:3DSMILE:

Before you invest in another connection type device, try to push the pin into the plastic connection. There are little "spurs" which will lock in (and require a small tube type device to unlock) if pushed in all the way.

I just cut, spliced, and soldered -- tossed the connector in the trash. It's a ten minute job.

And your advice is worth every penny too. ;)
I think around chassis 600 we changed to a spade-type connector to the fans. No more pins. Although the male spades were also retained by a tang...

No, my experience with the females in my life is not to "retain them" but rather to "restrain them".
The choice of words was intentional, so roll your eyes back into your head.
