Lime Rock - Labor day Weekend

Folks:

We plan to take four or five cars (ERA big block, small block and GT) over to the track for the weekend. We have a couple of RV spots reserved to the immediate right as you come across the bridge into the infield. Come on over and say hello. Why, there is a reasonable chance that "Mustache Pete" Portante may even make an appearance... (after all we are still a week away and it is way to early for him to make a commitment to anything that far away).

Now if the weather will cooperate...

Jim

I plan to be there if the weather is good. I am the new owner of ERA2041, and I am enjoying everything about the car. I'll stop by to say hello and compare notes.

Jim,

Very good chance that I will be there. Hopefully my better half will also join me for the trip up from NJ.

Folks:

An update on the weekend:

The potentially bad weather held off on Saturday and turned fantastic for Sunday and Monday.

There was quite a turnout of replicas for the NE Shelby Club show on Sunday. There was representation of just about every manufacturer present and a potential buyer had the opportunity to compare the "good, the bad and the ugly."

Following the show a couple of us cruised the backroads of Litchfield, Columbia and Dutchess Counties ending up at an excellant little restaurant near Millbrook, New York. The restaurant staff all came out to check out the cars and they insisted that we park on the lawn. The spot has a great view to the west and the surrounding horse farms. (Oh, and excellant food too. We went for the ribeye steaks grilled over a wood fire.)

Fantastic weekend... to the point that we may head back up in early October and do it all again.

Hey Jim
I was there on Sunday with my black ERA S/C. I'm sorry I didn't get to meet you, but I spoke with Peter and Doug and met several ERA owners who brought their cars, as well as several owners of other makes. Just a great weekend.

Hi Jim,

Did my Aurora Slabside make it into the "good" category? Nice meeting and talking with you and Peter.

Jim,

Sorry I didnt get over there to see you either. I had my Essex Wire GTD there on Sunday and the 550 spyder there Monday. I was amazed how many cobras were there for the show on Sunday.Lots of fun!

ZOERA-SC7XX 09-02-2008 03:35 PM

I think there were more Cobras this year than any other make. Maybe LR should grant us some asphalt to park on down in turn two rather than the dirt where grass hasn't yet grown.

Demo laps on monday would be great!
