Subaru Rack
Bob,
What is the ratio of this rack used in early cars and what should the lock-to-lock be? I have the newer modified steering knuclkes.
Thanks,

The Subaru gear is 2.8 turns lock-to-lock with a total travel of 4.2". (1.5" travel/turn).

OK thanks. Does that make it about 17:1?
And are these still available from ERA or Sub?

The ratio is about 18:1.
We don't have the Subaru gears anymore. (Can't get new ones.) We do have fast-ratio Flaming River-based units (same ratio as above) that will interchange if the intermediate column is changed.

Thanks Bob.
Is the header pass-through the same with the FR rack and column or are different header pipes reqd?

No change in the primary pipes. The F/R gear requires a spline connection as opposed to the "T" of the Subaru.
