Thanks To All
This is my first general post. I have followed the threads for several years as I built my ERA. I have used many of your ideas and avoided some problems with your help. My car is now complete! Thanks to all.

Congrats!
She's a beauty, Brent! Now you're a qualified ERA expert, so weigh in here and start giving advice with everyone else :)
I take it you started with the basic kit and did it the hard way? Did you get a roller, or did you do the body/frame bonding yourself? Sam |

Brent, nice build! Don't be so shy, we don't bite, but some Cobra's do!

Reply and Question
Sam, I had ERA bond the body to the frame. I did the rest. Now the question. I don't want to put the exterior rear view on the fender.
The screws on the windshield are not US or metric. Probably english wentworth (sp). Where would I find Them? |

There's a warning in the manual, but it bears repeating: Trim the length of the screws so that they can't contact the glass.
Unless you like cracks traveling across your vision... |

Patrickt, I called John at British Tools and Fasteners. He has some screws on the way. I will be careful on the length.

Brent .... Congratulations on the start up !! I know how it feels as I fired off ERA # 757 at 2:45 pm January 6 and ran it for 6 minutes while I called ERA and made them listen to it :3DSMILE: !
When you get your exterior mirror mounted , will you post some pictures ? I haven`t mounted mine yet either and would like to see your setup . BTW , you live in an area I really like ... I used to spend time down there some years ago . Congratulations !! |

http://www.finishlineaccessories.com...%20Bracket.jpg I just laid some blue painter's tape down and measured twice per the manual, then bit my lip and drilled the fender :) Use the correct drill size, and then go easy when inserting the screws, backing out every 1/2 turn as you go. Same for the dash mirror. Glad you found the screws, I think they went to SAE threads on the later cars. Peter calls them "witless" screws  Sam |

Brent,
You are now an ERA owner with a reputation to uphold. Just be sure your mirror contains this information: |
Congrats on finishing your car, it looks great. I can't believe you stayed under the radar for the entire build! Did you photograph the build?
I built my own ERA much the same as you; bothered Doug endlessly with questions about everything (I'm about twenty minutes from New Britain). I also did my own Jag rear. It's rewarding beyond what words can express. Now it's time to bare your soul and join the rest of us topless FE fanatics. Good luck. |
