Registered ffr cars in australia
Hi guys,
trying to find someone that has imported and complied a FFR Cobra into Australia. I am wanting to find out what changes besides right hand drive conversion is needed to comply with the Australia Design Rules as well as New South Wales compliance requirements for registration. Trying to decide wether i buy a kit from Australia or import one and pay for modifications to have it complied? Any information will be greatly appreciated thanks Beauies |
Hey there champ, you may get more answers if you ask this in the Aussie sub section?

I wouldnt be starting a build until waiting to see what the RTA do. At this stage cars can not be registered in NSW as the testing requirements are not possible. The RTA are currently overhauling the whole scheme with public comment closing Feb 28.
Latest testing requirements they are now enforcing are crash test for collapsible column boss and skid control on a surface that does not exist in Australia. I wouldnt bother with an overseas kit in NSW unless you can get a copy of all test results first and check they have been completed according to Australian and NSW requirements. As a minimum you want torsion and beaming test, seat anchor and seat belt anchor testing. |
