Suggestions for transmission line up

All

I am a novice at this. I am about to order my FFR Mk4 complete kit, I have a 302 engine, approx 300HP, running IRS, standard wheels 15" and recomended tires as per FFR. Can you make some suggestions for me to simplify the next purchases. I need suggestions for flywheel, clutch, bellhousing, gearbox.

if you had part numbers or good description and where you bought it from this would be a great help. I am on a bit of a budget and want the car to be as reliable as possible.

Thanks for your help :-)

Rich, I can help you here. I offer complete drivetrain packages and with 300hp, I can put something together that won't break the bank. I would use a new Tremec T5 trans and bellhousing with a RAM clutch kit. If you don't care about overdrive ratios I can also supply a rebuilt toploader trans package.

Give me a call and we can discuss the options.

That's pretty darned good advice. 300hp in a 2200# car won't put much strain on the trans or clutch, even if you drive it kinda hard on the street. Stock T5, stock flywheel, stock BH, and a decent clutch will be light weight, relativly inexpensive, and last just about forever.

Personally, I would not use a toploader unless it was a 1/4 mile track only car. And even then, I would have to think about that pretty hard. I like an OD gear a lot.

I have a b&b roadster 306 ford 350 h.p. Tko600 5sp. Ram clutch and ford bellousing. A ford 9'' with a3.73 gear. The trans has a .68 5th and at 75 mph the engine turns 2100 rpm. With alot of highway running this works well. One option is taller gear and .82 5th?
