Factory Five Customer Gary G. Completes Hot Rod Build in 90 Days!

https://www.factoryfive.com/wp-conte...aryghotrod.jpg

It’s always fun to read customer e-mails discussing their builds and we received on yesterday from Factory Five customer Gary G. with pictures of his ’33 Hot Rod that he built and registered in only 90 days!

After seeing the ’33 Hot Rod at the 2008 SEMA Show, Gary got the itch to start building one and after a few years, he decided it was time. The kit was delivered on July 16th, 2012 and Gary got to work right away having it at the rolling chassis stage in only six hours! Gary says he’s not a mechanic or in the business. “I’m just a dude with some tools and greasy fingers,” Gary wrote in his e-mail.

A week or so later, Gary was fitting the body for the first time and hanging the doors. Following getting the body fitted and painted, the decided to touch up the paint little bit more before wrapping up the last few details and heading off to the DMV for inspection. The Hot Rod passed with flying colors and Gary immediately hit the road!

Congratulations Gary! Glad you’ve enjoyed your build and driving your Hot Rod.

Enough already. This is a Cobra forum not an open forum to display another Hot Rod kit with a Chevy small block. If FFR wants to show us the latest and greatest Cobra hardware good but I for one don't care for the other stuff here. Go put it on Club Hot Rod.

I was at the SEMA Show this year and saw some really nice cars. Not a lot of Cobras for some reason. Any ideas why?

It is posted in the manufacturers area of the site. Specifically in the Factory Five section. What's the big deal?

Really, I agree with Tim. Not that it's not a cool car and it is in the FFR area however it's not even close to Cobra related. Every time I see one of Dave's posts I open it, then (most of the time) realize that it's so far off topic that I'm sorry I opened it. IMHO, if it's not Cobra related, it souldn't be here. I'm sure that there are many sites where that car would be more than welcome but I wouldn't go post pics of my Cobra on a Camaro site. To me it's a no-brainer.

I agree and I have a Factory Five. This is not the forum for their Hot Rods or their new 818.

I agree the 90 day build on their 33 hot rod is a little off topic in the Cobra forum, but it is also a little behind the times as Lone Star has offered a seven day build for over five years on their LSC 427 Cobra ;)

Hurry, somebody Photoshop edit in a rollbar and set of side pipes before he deletes the post

Hi guys,

Sorry, I'll stop sharing these stories. I thought since I was posting them in the Factory Five section, it'd be ok. I'll keep to just stories on our Roadsters from now on.

decooney 11-19-2012 09:23 PM

Well, and then there is the Lounge forum if you must.

Just about anything goes over there ... ...http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/loun...mer-types.html

Hi Dave,

don't let the sooks scare you away I say. I like the stories.

Sure I love the cobra and am building one, but a little sideline story about a different car is still welcome.

Cars are cars and I love them all.

And I don't really look at hot rod forums so this news snippet saves me the trouble!

Some would say:'If ya don't like it, Don't read it !"

Jethrow, the name of this site is Club Cobra. It's dedicated to Shelby cars, primarely Cobras and GT40's. Factory Five has their own site named Factory Five Racing in which they have a forum for each of their cars one of which is for the Hot Rod. I can understand why people don't like the posts by Dave. They don't bother me, but I understand why.

What's a sook? :D

here ya go,

An Australian slang term used to indicate another person is soft, easily upset, or just a plain *****.

Joe: I'm in so much pain right now, I've got such a bad bruise on my knee.
Bob: *Looks at Joe's Knee* You call that a bruise, don't be such a sook, my dick has had bigger bruises on it than that.
John: Yeah Joe you f@cking *****, don't be such a sook.

there is a factory five roadster that comes to a local show in LA. It really looks great in person

Dimis 11-20-2012 07:12 PM

Aye, aye, aye... why the hostilities?

The man makes one of the most prolific kits going around and the peanut gallery throw stones from their cheap seats.

I for one wish people like him posted more on this site!

Well said dbn04. Exactly how us Aussies would say it.
