was "Gauges", now "Can't Delete Msg"

I plan on using Auto Meter gauges. What gauges were used in the original Cobras? Speedo, Tach, Oil Pressure, Amps, Fuel Level, Water Temp & ???? There were five small gauges to the right of the steering wheel. Factory Five shows both a Volt Meter & Ammeter (which is not in my Mustang). Seems kinda' redundant. I plan on putting volts & oil temp. in there. Whaddya think? "Never Mind"... I just saw the earlier post, and the reply... went to Cobra Trader... saw the Cobra Owner's Manual, with gauge layout. With the exception of the voltmeter, I was headed in the right direction. Maybe I'll use an ammeter.

Volts is to show battery volts and alternator output. Amp Meter shows rate of electricity currently in use or production of amps. Personally speaking I do not like amp meters. They run on the hot side and I have seen them catch on fire. I run a clock in the amp meter spot myself and use it every time I am in the car. You have the basic gauges correct. I think I read in a Cobra book somewhere that the race only cars did not use a gas gauge. Can someone verify this?

You're right race cars used fuel pressure not fuel level. When it got low they switched from mechanical to electric pumps on reserve to pit.

Dead thread.

Original post by user who was on the forum for exactly one day nine years ago.

He probably found his answer since.
