Looking for a MK1 or MK2 Assembly Manual
I just purchased a late model MK1 or an early model MK2 (can't tell) and I would like to find an assembly manual. VIN# is 2010K, built in 2000.
I'm starting to poke around in the car and it would be nice to have the manual when trying to troubleshoot any issues that might arise. Regards, BillMac |

Thanks, thats awesome. I was told last night that I have a MK1 based on the VIN. One of the old timers over on the Factory Five forum said he knew the specific car and its builder. Must be a small community. Its was probably close to the end of the MK 1 run. Let me know if you can find it and if I can buy it off you or get a copy made. Mk1 suspension
Hi bill, currently I’m dealing with the same issue. I have a old mk1, that I’m trying to replace the worn out suspension components. I finally found an old build manual on eBay that I’m waiting on. However as far as parts like the front coil overs I’d like to replace with newer koni if possible but don’t know where to start. Factory five website is useless as they only vary mk4
Parts. Any help would be much appreciated thanks keith |

Sometimes you are better off creating a new thread instead of digging up an old one. As for the Koni upgrades, if you call Factory Five, tell them your front end configuration (IE: stock Mustang lower control arms, tubular upper, whether you have a slotted upper control arm mount or two separate sets of drilled mounting points, etc), they can sell you the proper front Koni shocks. In addition, you might want to look into their 3 link retro fit kit for the rear, as it transforms the handling of the car from anything they offered at the time your car was built (unless someone has already custom installed an IRS). I replaced my entire suspension and for simplicity I went with the FFR Konis. Everything worked great except I needed to manufacture (find) a couple of replacement spacers. Because the MK Is are older the supplied spaces didn't cut it. The other issue was the adjustability of the Konis was a bit difficult to experiment with. The process for changing the dampening was hard to execute. I'd be glad to discuss if you want. PM me your contact info. Regards, BillMac |
