FFR at LCS autocross

I always tell people that I carry ID on me to remember my name so it should come as no surprise that I ask this question...

The SUPER FAST guy at the LCS autocross in a FFR Challenge car was Jim McGiver?????

Thanks
Rick

Actually, I believe it's John.

He was very FAST!!!

GOCATS 07-12-2005 05:38 AM

I remember seeing when he posted his 20 second lap time. Coming into the finish line SIDEWAYS:eek: and then having the skills to stop it and coming to rest backwards on the semi- raised median at the end of the row of parking spaces and did not hurt the car one bit. Man what a piece of driving. Kudos to John for one piece of fantastic driving.

John McIver

Hey I might have been able to shave a second or two off my time in a street-tire SPF had I come in backward and rested it on a curb! :JEKYLHYDE

Just kidding, John. You were quick out there! Fun to watch!

It was Ron Frohs, though, that inspired me to just give it up and go around the track sideways. I was 2 seconds faster steering with the gas pedal than I was steering with my hands.

In a Cobra! Go figure! :)

He was a National Solo Champion and it was obvious he knew what he was doing!

Would love to see him back in London next year (not to stir up anything) and maybe give a little instruction to those of us to get more enjoyment out of these vehicles.

It is truly a pleasure to watch someone drive their car to the max and have everything under control.... well most of the time.:3DSMILE:

J.P. I think you were just glad Jay left the chapstick back at the Hotel... those picture were getting expensive

Yes! ...been thinking about this also!

What do you think about a Road race driving school? Something like Skip Barber, Bondurant, ..or Phil Wicks Driving Academy.....

...Drive your cobra at speed on a track under the supervision of race instructors.

The track could be Mid-Ohio for 2 days...say, Thursday and Friday. Then have the traditional stuff on Sat and Sun. i.e: poker run, cruises, etc.

Godzila 07-12-2005 04:41 PM

Hmmn I like the idea, but what about maybe Wed and Thursday for the school and normal stuff FRI-SUN?? Yust a suggestion,,,,,,,,I bring those pretty busty girls yah in thar cute tight orange shorts**)

rob frink 07-13-2005 07:31 AM

Hey Steve,

The SPF group shared it's track event with a Mini club. Just think....you could drive Minzilla for one session...then Cobzilla the next.
