tunnel port heads and intake Q.

I'm selling my tunnel port engine top end only. Heads, dual 4 intake and carbs with linkage. everthing appears to be in excellent condition, carbs probably need to be rebuilt, been sitting for 15+ years.
For all intesive purposes its a matched set. Does anyone recomend where to market and sell them? I do not like Ebay, I've heard to many bad stories.
Also, whats a fair balbark price, ebay kind of gives you a barometer of value but none have been up for sale.
so, a little help? It' time to sell the extra FE parts and can only guess value

tunnel port heads
tunnel port 2x4 intake with carbs and linkage
tunnel wedge 2x4 intake
aluminum cobra T oil pan
aluminum 427 valve covers
aluminum oval 2x4 cobra air cleaner

It's all very good parts, no junk.

Thanks
Daniel

A good place to get some clues/ideas would be from Carls Ford Parts.

http://www.carlsfordparts.com/main.html

Every now and then I check to see what the value of High Riser parts are. When High Riser parts (intake, heads, etc.) do come up for sale they sell very quickly. I would expect the tunnel port stuff to be the same way, but how to market it is the problem.

Daniel,
Big difference in what you'll get and what they are worth. Manifold if absolutely cherry new condition is ABOUT $1800-$2500. Heads maybe not so much. I've seen average condition heads and manifold set ups go for $1500 for the entire package. My buddy has the same set up on the shelf and he's been sitting on them for a l-o-n-g time.

As I remember yours, they were in fairly decent shape.

I'd be interested in the "T" pan and valve covers for my FE build in my Kirkham.
Let me know what price range we are talking and some pictures would be nice.

Casting numbers for the heads?
Casting numbers for the intake?
Part numbers for the carbs?

Are the other parts originals or reproductions?

If everything is a very nice condition..........

Heads $1500-1800 nice thumbprints and no repairs. What valves are in them? Add $200-300 if you have the correct C5 slotted iron rocker stands. A set of original valve spring cups is around $100 still.

Tunnelport Intakes 2x4 single plane $1400-1600. If dual plane $1600-1800. Nice condition no damage or repairs.

Tunnelwedge (if oem Ford) $1400+. Dove maybe $600+. No damage/repairs.

Carbs if AC-AD, BU-BT, BC-BD $800-1000+. Used dusty on the shelf, nice condition.

2x4 aircleaner if original Ford $300+. I've seen guys ask $600-1000 but still have them. There are some older repops done in the early 80's those are about $100 good used. Newer Blue Thunder repops $120 good used.

T pans sell $200-250 used.

Valve covers about the same $200-250 used.

Do you have the correct original fuel log for the 2x4 tunnelport intake? Those are real hard to find used and the new correct repops are $90 from Galaxie Performance. No idea what they'd sell for. They have a unique bolt spacing due to the TP 12 bolt intake patten vs std FE 10 bolt.

These are the prices I've seen things sell for over the few last years. I have a bunch of that tunnelport junk here and try to stay current on prices. Economy has pushed some prices cheaper for those who need to sell quickly.

Nice bunch of parts!

Thanks everyone for your help. I simply will not use these parts ,and although they make cool garage art, there's a fine line between just to much %$#@ in the shop.
This weekend I'll shoot sosme pictures and post them. I do know the tunnel port is 2x4 single plane, the tunnel wedge is FORD and 2x4 single plane, rocker stands are split, carbs are not original, I've been told they are 660CFM holly's.
anyway, I'll post as much as I can. Thanks again for your help

Daniel

Is the parts still for sale, I'm interested in the tunnel port heads.

Mr Lorensson 05-06-2014 01:46 PM
