Breather Question

http://www.chuckbrandt.com/breather.jpg
I got this today from Branda. I bought it sight unseen and I must admit it wasn't what I was expecting. It is undeniably a beautiful piece. I'm just wondering if something like it was original to these cars etc? Will it fit under the hood? Wow is about all I can say :)

Secondly, if I have another breather on the oil fill tube, do I need any kind of breathers on the valve covers?

Thanks for any info,

Chuck Brandt

Chuck,

That breather does look great, but I opted for the more modern approach of a PCV valve in one valvecover and a K&N breather in the other.
This will keep oil contamination to a minimum and help avoid acid and moisture buildup inside the motor.

Chuck, I use that same setup on mine. There's plenty of room and it works just fine.

ST - could you post a picture?

I'm wondering which way the S should point.

Thanks, Chuck

The breather is mounted so it clears the the carb. I'm using dual Holleys. There is a good picture of one on the E.R.A. site. Click on cutomer cars and on the second page there is a red Cobra with a couple of photos, one shows the engine compartment with the breather.

Thanks - doesn't look as big on the motor!

I get it now, looks good.

Thanks, Chuck
