427 s/oiler ?

Hi, been a while since i worked on one of these , is it possible to run a hyd. camshaft flat tappet or roller in a ford side oiler block. I reading somewhere that it said no but i thought with machining it could be done
thanks inadvance Bob

Depends. Some side oilers were machined for lifter oiling, while others were not. Blocks from 1968 on - production or service - are generally going to have the oiling passages drilled for hydraulics. Earlier production blocks are most likely undrilled. They can be converted but it ain't no fun job...

I choose to run a flat tappet even though I COULD run a hydraulic in my side oiler block. Which is a 1968 block.
