i have a 427fe with blue thunder heads and dove roller rockers, one of the rockers is cracked at the roller,I don't want to buy a hole set to fix one roller,

If one is crack-----

tom meyers Tom not to be the bad guy here BUT, if one is broken the rest are not to far behind with the same problem. There are some other companies you should look at like H&Sharp rockers. Try to find a set of ERSON. They re bolt on and the best bang for the buck. Been racing them for 6 years and no failures unlike ----. If money is no problem the heads will need some work, Jesel or T&D. I think T&D have a bolt on kit. Check with Brent B. Keith Craft, or Barry R. at Survivalmotorsports They will all give you the best price. Hang the Doves on the wall. Yes a ran them for 3 years and broke 2 shafts. One was there standard one and the other was a heavy duty one. Both broke at the bolt hole between #7 and #8 cylinders. The heads where check and flat at the mounting points. 6,200 rpm limit on this motor. NO reason for this. I do have a set but with the problems I had with shafts and working the oiling for them wouldn't sell or give them to a friend or enemy. Rick L.

Ditto......

a factory rocker would probably out perform the Dove.....

I am not going to say anything about the quality of their parts, but if you saw Dove's manufacturing facility, you would laugh. He claims no chinese parts, but every tool he has in his shop to manufacture these parts come from china. You use junk, you get junk.

Hey Tom,

How much spring pressure are you running?

mhacars 07-31-2011 04:15 PM

JIm Dove

It amazes me that he is still selling parts as the quality is junk and is a reflection of his manufacturing facility. I know this first hand as anything that I bought from him needed to be reworked to function or was so out of whack that I had to replace it with another manufacturer.

I thought you were saying you have D0VE heads on your 460.... Not the brand "Dove"... I have HS on my 68 C8VE Heads. I had to do some mods, but very good move for my old 68 Engine.

Harland Sharps are very good for your money... Money spent once and you forget about it from that point forward.

T&D also had a new bolt on rocker arm system that I think is the best direct bolt on out there. I think they run about 895.00 but you will have no more problems. The way the stands are made help give the shaft extra support and the rockers are plenty strong.
This is what we have been using since the Erson are no oonger available. They are a little more money but I believe they are also better.

Thanks, Keith
