Mini-starter motor on FE428
I have one of those mini-starter motors with the gears so they whizz quite a lot before turning the engine much. I've got a couple of Odyssey PC545 (they are called Powervamp20 in the UK, but has the same spec).
This can deliver a cranking current of 545 Amps for 5 secs and 454 amps for 10s. Is that enough for an FE with a baby starter motor? The Odyssey guy suggested i needed two (which suite me :) ), so I bought 2 of them. Do folk think I need to wire both in parallel, or will one of them do the job? |
I think you will need the batteries in parallel. That looks pretty small for a FE.
I use the Optima 34 = specs at this link Optima Battery Optima Batteries Free Shipping! Best Service! Deep Cycle Batteries Yellow Blue Red Top Optimum My car has a pretty typical battery for our cars. It has a 428 stroker. John |
