427 side oiler cam bearing.
Guys I need help with finding cam bearings for a Pond 427 side oilier block.
I order in a set but when I started to install them found them to be about .0140 wider then what came out of the block. Once installed the extra width would not allow the oil holes to line up on the first and last bearing. I purchased the bearings from the shop that I purchased the block from.
The old bearing are .0620 wide and have a part number on them F/M SP3208DR. thenew bearings are Dura bond and are .0760 wide with a parts number of FP 01

As you've discovered, the Pond block doesn't use standard cam bearings. Also keep in mind that there have been cases of "bearing walk", necessitating that the bearings be pinned or loctited. Also #1 bearing needs to be clearanced for the distributor.

The Pond block uses either Robert's specific bearing set or it can use the 1268M F-M set for the Genesis blocks. The 1268M is a bit narrower and will not require distributor clearance trimming. Both use the same OD all the way through the block.
And yes - we've seen a couple cam bearings walk in aluminum blocks - you need to AT LEAST use red Loctite, better is a dowel pin or small fastener in front of & behind the cam bearings to keep them in place.

This is a Iron Block. The bearings that came out of the block are very close to the same widt of stock fe bearings.
