quicktime 6056

so i called quicktime explained my situation said they never heard of that before of course, said if starter pocket was wrong starter would not bolt up also stated they use the stock starter to go off of. i told them a stock starter works but my 300.00 cvr does not and a 200.00 powermaster did not . they were lost and offered no help, said to try a powermaster oem style tart number 3131. also said not to cut out the block plate so the starter sits on the bellhousing the plate is what supports the starter.

Wrench87 .... I had the same problem with my Quicktime 6056 on my big block . First starter was a Powermaster and only two bolts would line up .... Powermaster said two bolts would hold it . Sent it back . Tried a CVR starter with the same results on mounting ,,, also broke the shafter after 2 months . CVR customer service/tech help was non existent . Went to a RobbMac starter and it fit perfectly and is still going after 3 years .

Bob

PS .. I tried a Ford starter later and it fit perfectly . Use either a stock starter or a RobbMac unit .

i went and bought a powermaster 3131 starter lokks like oem but has more tourque. first no washer or nut on the stud and the flywheel just hits the nose cone, i have to remove the cover and activate it by hand to see if it engages and has good mesh.

Wrench87, stop all things you did up to here. I had the same problem and my starters killed all teeth from my flywheel....all guys from quicktime, Roush (where I got the parts from with my engine...) told me that there's no problem with the parts. Then I found a short video on the site from enginefactory. Here they show how you need to cut out the blockplate that the starter gets closer to the flywheel....I did this modification and since this time there's no more problem !!! Good luck and best regards from germany, Stephan

i fitted the starter when i turned it upside down felt something rattleing i removed the top cover there was a concaved washer it looks like the one on the shaft in the nose cone?. it fit fine i worked it manually it covered the flywheel and had good mesh so that ends that problem. on to the next
