turkey pan vendors?

i wanted to see how many different people sell turkey pans for the fe and who has the best value. i see tony branda has one, looks like finish line no longer sells one, what happen to masterstouch they dont seem to advertise on this site anymore.

One manufacturer is usually making them for all of the vendors. Be careful about waiting too long when vendors seem to no longer have an item. It may be a couple of years before the manufacturer decides to do another run. A few extra dollars to a vendor who has one in stock may look cheap compared to chasing used or out of stock for awhile.

wrench87 05-14-2012 05:38 PM

What is the difference from the Kirkham pan to the one Tony Branda sells.

Seriously though, if you don't have your TP fabbed to be easily removable then it becomes a real PITA when adjusting your carb, checking your vacuum, etc.

I got mine from Mastertouch also. I liked the pan that the sides come off with 6 screws and also their stainless fuel log bolts up to it. Very clean and user friendly.....
My K&N is 9 inches by 2.5 or 2.75... They make both.

What size is your K&N filter? I would like to get a turkey pan, but figured that my filter was too large. Thanks.

A lengthy thread on my installation of the K&N Xtreme in my Turkey Pan. http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/all-...whats-new.html An additional note -- once you decrease the intake resistance you must re-calibrate your secondaries to open properly with a softer spring. I have another thread on that, though.

My mastertouch327 pan was one piece. you can see it on page 4 of the show me your engine pic in the FE section

Happy with it, but wished i'd got the one with the removeable sides.

So what is the purpose of the turkey pan?

The real benefit of the TP is that it isolates the carb from a lot of the engine heat. That means the engine will run more consistently, the fuel will percolate less, and your engine will run cooler. Without the TP, my car runs almost 10 degrees warmer around town.

Turkey Pan

Thanks Pat.

I guess I would have on find one for duel quads since that is my setup. I always have a fuel smell in the garage after shutting down. I may need a spacer plate between the intakes and carbs.

Could you not modify the pan with small holes and rubber plugs to give access to the idle mixture screws OR get the type that can be twisted with your fingers? There aren't a lot of things that need to be accessed? It would appear that the use of one really restricts the size of air filter, especially with a 427+ Inch FE. Seems like your'e having to chase your tail.

This is a K&N filter sold by Nick A. Allows plenty of air for a SB.
