Installing A FE

Questions about angle of carb pad when installing engine...should the carb pad be level or do you use the valve covers or crank?? I'm using a RPM Intake.

jon, you won't have much wiggle room, from the trans to the rear, i would be sure of the pinion angle first, you may not have much choice

Motor height

Fred, lowering the motor 3/4" which is solving a hole host of problems and cutting the bottom of the bell housing to recapture the ground clearance. I have the motor in and it is level at thecarb pad but after looking at the spec's of the RPM which leans forward I was wondering if that was correct?pinion angle looks ok and I do have adjustable arms on the rear.

historically the carb pad is angled forward slightly,

i would install so the block is level, use the crank or the front and back top rails as a guide if the intake is off...

Can't really compare between different kits but I just installed the motor in my ERA and the carbs tilt forward 3 deg with the transmission height set for the rear end. If you are running a 9 inch Ford rear that may really change things up with the dropped pinion location.

factory intakes had a 5 degree carb pad angle
