Potential peoblems with FE install on SPF

My KC 482 is now at the installers in Cali. I was told by them yesterday that they are having clearance issues with the Aviad oil pan clearing the front sway bar. When researching this, it was my impression that this was pretty much an engine our engine in situation. He also added that he thinks the drive shaft will accommodate the extra length. This is all news to me, I'm going to have to drive to L.A. Fri and see for myself what the hell is going on. For info the engine that was removed was a 427W.

Benny, do a search on the forum. I believe some of the guys have reported better handling with the sway bars removed.

I guess you're going to miss Encinitas tomorrow night.

We're sure looking forward to seeing the new motor. Till you show up, mine is still the loudest!

My friend Buzz had a KC FE 427 in his SPF and removed his front Sway Bar and said exactly the same thing.....much better handling without the anti-sway bar.

The last FE our installation contractor did had a Canton pan, there was about 3/8" clearance to the front bar so it is close. The driveshaft for a TKO would be the same Windsor to FE and generally will accommodate about 3/4" of for/aft adjustment. The extra length of the FE is to the front as you are referencing off the transmission mount. Effectively the rear of the engine blocks end up at the same point.
