engine temp on a 390
Hello , do you guys think a running coolant temp of 200 deg F is normal or hot on my 390 motor ? Thanks for the input. Olaf

I would shoot for 185 degree area on a CI 390FE, but you'll get a lot of opinions on this from this group. Depends on oil type, outside air temp, driving conditions/style, state of tune, single four bbl or more, oil cooler, automatic/manual, etc, etc, ........

My 390 seems to work best between 190 and 205. Will not run smooth under 185. |
very normal.. my FE doesn't like it below 180 either.. but on a hot day 195-205 is typical...
