Replacing the bypass tube on an aluminum PI intake
1 Attachment(s)
Hi guys,
My bypass tube rotted away, so I am ready to install a new one. However, the new one is way to long and has a slight shoulder on one end. I was told that these are cut to fit, but I don't know which end to cut. If I cut one end, I cut off the shoulder and if I cut off the other, I cut off the lip for the hose. I am tempted to cut off the end with the lip and keep the end with the shoulder since I do not want to put any more pressure on the aluminum than I need to. Comments? |
Easiest is to just run a 3/8 NPT through the hole and use a pipe nipple.

The shoulder is to keep the hose & clamp from coming off pretty much like the one on the water pump, but once you put the water pump on there is no way the hose can go anywhere. |
Is it like this:
