I did the whole car... It's still a work in progress. Lol
But I have achieved a mirror finish on parts of it.
Still More work to be done... But it saved me $15k.

I gave Barry a target and the behavior I was going for and left him to pick the parts. He Spec'd:

QFT-850 Vac for the carb
Rocker Arms T&D
Hydraulic Roller
Custom Cam
I asked for a PCV system trying to limit the mist in the engine compartment.

.....if it works out like I expect it to I will get some Blue Thunder Competition valve covers and polish them myself..... Looking at photos on the internet most seem to be aluminum finned 427 Cobra or Chrome Pentroofs. I was going to do something slightly different. Being a bolt on I can always change them if I want.

Thanks for the info Bill. No problem on the delay. I am looking at probably going with a similar setup, although a 750 QFT with my smaller engine, and looking at low end torque over WOT HP. Good info on the PCV over just venting to limit mist.

I'm looking at going with something different on the VCs as well. I really like the baldy "Bird and Flags" 427 Thunderbolt look. If you have Barry's book you have probably seen some of these there. This is kind of what precipitated the Blue Thunder intake, as the baldys have no oil fill or vent openings, and the Edelbrock intake doesn't have the oil fill tube that the Blue Thunder does. I guess this seems like a roundabout way to go just for something cosmetic, but then kind of hard to go wrong with a Blue Thunder intake regardless of how you get there.

Sounds like a good plan you might want to double check is a modern set of roller rockers will fit under the old school baldys.
