427 MR cam ?s
Hello all. new to this site and have learned a lot off the knowledge here. Hope to eventually help like I have been help. I just purchased a 67 fastback with a 427 SO and need help with cam selection. Motor has been bored 25ths magged sonic checked and even lovingly stroked after I got it home. :LOL: Stock crank C4AE-H lemans rods and stock heads C5AE-F with the tunnelwedge dual quad intake. Need cam tho. I do have a very mildly ran C3AE-AA cam along with a nos crane CC-314. Called up Crane and they sent me specs card and saying duration is 314 with a valve lift of 587 both intake and exhaust with a cam timing of .0136 @ tappet. I know nothing about cams and know theres knowledge here, seen it! any suggestions on cams? I do have more info but don't know what is needed.Running original manual 4spd toploader. Thanks in advance.

It probably signifies that it is a Hydraulic cam.
H=Hydraulic
S=Solid
R=Roller

You wanting a solid flat tappet? There's much to be gained from stepping away from the 40-50 year old cams.

The old AA and B cams were great a long time ago. Things have come a long way since then.;)
