427 SO Block Color
Building a 427 side oiler to put in a "not real Cobra". If it were a real Cobra, what color would the engine block been painted? Ford engine dark blue, light blue, black, or something else? I've always been a Chevy fan, so this Ford stuff is a little new to me. Thanks in advance for your help.

The 427 block was painted black - semi-gloss would be about right. The 428s were delivered in what ever blue shade the engine line was painting them at the time - light, medium or dark blue examples have been seen in Cobras, Mustangs and Galaxies.
